In the prime role for this project, Pinpoint's work included a full-service approach within the parameters set by the scope of the project. We included fire protection and electrical design services, as well as necessary interface with the client, review agencies, and other client retained consultants and vendors. Our duties included the following:

Created bid documents sufficient for qualified fire protection contractors to bid, design and install a new fire pump system in the new fire pump room location;

Responded to requests for information (RFI’s) from bidders;

Verified new fire pump room design met NFPA 20 standards and requirements of the local authority having jurisdiction;

Addressed design issues regarding undersized pump inlet piping (including backflow valve);

Addressed design issues regarding fire pump system electrical utility supply (generator supply excluded);

Verified pump size was sufficient for the greatest existing fire protection system demand;

Reviewed bids and recommend the lowest qualified bidder;

Reviewed and commented on the successful fire protection contractor’s shop drawings, calculations, and equipment submittals;

Reviewed and commented on final pump system test reports;

Reviewed and commented on electrical plan indicating the location of the proposed pump and new electrical feeds from existing switchgear, and reviewed electrical shop drawings; and

Answered contractor RFIs, Initial site visit, and final punch list walkthrough.
